I'm so very excited! I patiently waited in line this morning for the random drawing for tickets to the 2014 Comic-Con, and I got placed in line before they sold out, and got my tickets! :woohoo: I feel like I've won the lottery! If any of you are also going hit me up and let's meet up in San Diego on July 24th! I can't wait!!!

Thanks!

We shouldn't need a holiday like Thanksgiving (today here in the U.S.) to express our thanks for just one day. It should be expressed each and every day for those who are in our lives, and for the things we have that we might take for granted. I'm very honored to have such wonderful friends who I've come to know and love here at DeviantArt. If I've not already told you, I'm truly thankful to know you and appreciate all the support.

I hope everyone has a beautiful day today and everyday, filled with love, family, friendship, and thankfulness!

Cheers!

Ryan

I'm happy as a pig in slop playing Dead Space 3 for XBox, especially since now you can play Co-Op missions with a buddy! It's like living inside a nightmare with awful things jumping out of every nook, set within the most awesome world ever. I've thoroughly enjoyed all of these games in the series, but this one is much more action packed and a lot like the original as far as the scare factor. So much fun!!!

Despite the rumors of my untimely demise, I'm still alive and kicking. I'm sadly missing Deviant Art and my friends' work. My apologies! I'm very close to getting my side job cafe finally open for business (what a wild ride that's all been -- geesh), doing all that on top of my crazy-ass day job which is in full balls-to-the-wall mode lately. Same old, same old, but once all that is in order I just might have some time to catch up finally.

:woohoo: Good news! :woohoo: :iconariel-x: Björn and I were interviewed and featured in the latest online magazine, 3D Art Direct. That came out of the blue and took us by surprise, and we're so thrilled to have our "Extrasolar" project featured. Check it out! It's free online, and there are some great articles in this one and the back issues, featuring a good many fellow 3D artists and friends from Deviant Art.

 Cheers to all my wonderful friends for your love and support! I really appreciate it! :)

Last month I received a surprise message from a publishing firm requesting permission to use my image for the cover of Isaac Asimov's "The Caves of Steel". At first I thought perhaps this was one of those spam messages I get from time to time from someone claiming to have seen my gallery here at DA, but turned out this was the real deal. The company is Hayakawa Publishing Corporation based in Japan, and they specialize in publishing Western literature translated to Japanese. They found my rendition of "The Caves of Steel" here at DA for sure, since this is the only place I've submitted the image. So hooray for DeviantArt (and maybe Google image search, but still it links back to here)!!!

Today I received my copies in the mail as they promised. I've been itching to announce this sooner, but I've been waiting until I knew for certain that it would indeed happen, especially given the circumstances and terrible disasters that have fallen on Japan recently.

I originally made this image for pure fun, but more importantly as a tribute to one of my all-time favorite authors and books.

Here's the original image I made:

And here's the image as it appears on the book:

What an honor and a pure thrill this is for me! I never would have dreamed that this would happen.

Of course I have thank my good buddy, Ariel-X :iconariel-x:, who allowed me the pleasure to use some of his awesome objects to create the "caves" - namely the "Hello Kitty Space Tunnel", which incidentally was just a random name he gave it at the time, but now seems quite apropos. LOL

And a big thanks to all my friends and fellow artists here at DA. You constantly fill me with inspiration and encouragement.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Cheers!

-Ryan
